Introducation to Mariology

The present volume was written as a handbook for students in the first cycle of studies at the Theological Faculty of Lugano, in the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland. The Faculty is an academic set- ting serving students from all over the world.

This publication has benefited from the author’s experience as president of the German Society for Mariology (Deutsche Arbeits- gemeinschaft für Mariologie). Originally, the study was published in Italian (2008); it was translated, with some updates, into Spanish (2015). Other translations into Portuguese and Korean are on the way. The book presents the treasure of Marian doctrine for a first comprehensive view; for specialists in Mariology it offers basic information with bibliographical references for further study.
